A lot has been written already about what a horrible month August was for the sale of real estate in the Vancouver and Lower Mainland real estate markets.  The Chilliwack* real estate market was no exception recording the worst sale numbers in 15 years. This continues with a trend of oscillating market trends; perhaps buyers and sellers are still undecided whether this is the bottom of the market or not. This remains a buyer's market and the uses of an experienced Realtor® with local market knowledge is an asset both sellers and buyers should be looking for.

Chilliwack* STRATA HOMES for August 2012

The sale of Chilliwack* Strata Homes, apartments, townhouses was similarly depressed with only 44 sales in the month of August compared to a 10-year average of 66 for the month.  The monthly average price took a swing upwards but this may be misleading given the small sample size.  Generally, if more townhouses get sold over apartments the average increases.
